The meeting will be at the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) – https://www.ictp.it/ which is located away from Trieste city center.

How to get to the meeting from Trieste City Center

If you are staying in the city center, take bus line 6 runs from the city center to Grigano – casello di Miramare which is the last stop.  The bus timetable is here.

Travel

From Venice Airports

From both Marco Polo (VCE) and Treviso (TSF) airports, there are two options to reach Trieste:

  1. bus + train
    1. Take the Fly Bus – express service to Mestre Central station (bus fare is 10 Euros).  Tickets can be bought online or at the airport arrivals machines.  Timetables, tickets and information are available here.
    2. Then take a regional train from Mestre railway station to Trieste Central Station (less than 2 hours).  Tickets can be bought at the Mestre station or online here.

    1. You can book in advance a GOOPTI shuttle directly from the airport to your hotel in Trieste.  Learn more here and here.

From Trieste Airport (Ronchi Dei Legionari – TRS)

  1. Train:  take the regional train to Trieste Central station (about 30 minutes).  Tickets can be bought at the airport train station or online here.
  2. Bus
  3. Shuttle:  you can book in advance a GOOPTI shuttle directly from the airport to your hotel in Trieste.  Learn more here and here.
