The seventeenth Argo Steering Team meeting will be hosted by JAMSTEC in Yokohama, Japan, 22-24, March 2016.

The Argo Steering Team Meeting is a time for the national groups who contribute to international Argo to come together and discuss logistical and technical matters pertaining to the Argo array.

The meeting will take place in the Miyoshi Memorial Hall Auditorium at the Yokohama Institute for Earth Sciences (YES) at JAMSTEC. See the maps and instructions below.

Lunch will be in the JAMSTEC cafeteria. Tickets can be purchased from a vending machine at the cafeteria for between 480 and 650 yen (~$5USD). An English menu will be available.

JAMSTEC will host a welcome reception on the evening of 22 March, 2016 at the Guest House at the JAMSTEC-YES campus. The reception is from 18h00 – 20h00. See the map of the JAMSTEC-YES facility for the location of the Guest House.

After the AST-17 meeting officially concludes on 24, March, 2016, JAMSTEC will be hosting a talk by a local commercial company called JFE Advantech Co, Ltd. The presentation is entitled, “Development of New Oxygen Sensors for Argo Profiling Floats”.

On 26 March, 2016, there will a program called “Measuring the Ocean” at Tohoku University. More information can be found here.
