The American Geophysical Union has elected Dean as a 2010 Fellow. Only one in each thousand members is elected to Fellowship each year. This means that Dean has made exceptional scientific contributions and was chosen by a committee of Fellows. Look for the announcement in Eos on 9 February 2010.
