The fifteenth Argo Steering Team meeting will be hosted by the Institute for Ocean Research Enterprise in Halifax, Canada, 17-21, March 2014.

The Argo Steering Team Meeting is a time for the national groups who contribute to international Argo to come together and discuss logistical and technical matters pertaining to the Argo array.

The AST-15 meeting will take place 18-20 March 2014 at the WTCC. Start time is 9am and the meeting is expected to last three full days.

The AST-15 executive meeting will take place on 17 March 2014 1pm at Institute for Ocean Research Enterprise.

Notice to Argo’s commercial partners regarding AST-15:

Commercial partners in the Argo Program (i.e. technical/engineering personnel) are welcome to attend Day 1 (March 18, 2014) of the 15th Argo Steering Team Meeting in Halifax, Nova Scotia (click below to register). The AST-15 Agenda on Day 1 will include reports and discussion of Argo Implementation Status and Argo Data Management Issues, as well as discussion of how Argo can improve its coordination and lines of communications (internally, and with commercial partners, and with Argo users). AST-15 attendance on March 19-20 is, as usual, limited to representatives of Argo national programs and invited guests.

Meeting Venue

The meeting will be held at the World Trade Convention Centre in Suites 301-302.

Welcome Reception

There will be an evening reception on Tuesday March 18, 2014 from 18:00 to 20:00 at the Prince George Hotel. Attendees, including commercial partners, and their spouses are welcome.

Public lecture

Susan Wijffels and Dean Roemmich will be giving a public lecture entitled, “Argo: Tracking the Pulse of the Global Oceans” on Wendesday evening, the 19th of March. Everyone is welcome to attend.
